A Great Example! - HOPE (UK)
Young Jonathan Hickman gives a great example of how a personal passion can be turned into a fund raising idea using the justgiving website.
I DID IT! I READ 52 BOOKS. Thank you very much to everyone who sponsored me. My most favourite book was the Emperor's Underwear by Laurence Anholt but I read lots of Astrosaurs books by Steve Cole, Captain Underpants books by Dav Pilkey, and all the Seriously Silly Story Collection by Laurence Anholt and Arthur Robins. I also got lots of books out from the library. I did a Sponsored Book Read to raise money for HOPE International Development Agency (UK). The money will go to help provide clean water to villages in Southern Ethiopia. Thank you. Jonathan Editor's Note: Jonathan's BIG READ helped raise sponsorship for a HOPE UK fundraising trip to Ethiopia, which saw his dad (Chaz) and other HOPE supporters take part in the Great Ethiopian Run in November 2008. They also visited projects that HOPE supports in southern Ethiopia. |
